Hi, I've been Telemark skiing for 15 years and I now spend much of my winters teaching Telemark and Nordic skiing with K7 Adventures at Perisher. I've been teaching for 5 years now and I hold my APSI Level 2 Telemark and my Level 1 Nordic qualification and I'm also an APSI Telemark Trainer Examiner. When I'm not working I take every chance I get to get out of the resort and take advantage of the great backcounty skiing we have in Australia.
I like to ski in the backcountry in Australia, there's just something about skiing through snowgums that I love. You'll probably find me by following the trail of splat marks down a nice freshly snowed upon hill back to camp. I've been skiing in the Australian backcountry since 1997, as well as France and NZ. I'm a supporter of Broken River in NZ.
The Baron is a keen exponent of modern forms of ski-ing, and has an earnest desire to bring these more refined techniques to the Australian ski-ing public. While he recognises that significant progress has been made in recent decades, he thinks that the followers of Herr Schneider’s school of skiing have made a mockery of refined ski-ing techniques with their overly restrictive bindings. Through his thorough exposition of the underlying principles and practical application of the evolutions involved in ski running, the Baron hopes that the reader will share the enjoyment that he has found in this highly commendable pastime.
