09th of October 2010 - Mt Perisher

Today I managed to find a spare hour after completing some fieldwork and I managed a quick ski on Mt Perisher since Kosciuszko Road is still only open to Spencer’s Creek, lazy RTA. The cover is good on easterly and southern aspects down to 1800m and there is still a bucket load of snow on the Main Range, I think there will be drifts to ski well into November this year.

I followed the toboggan path of a very enthusiastic tobogganer up Mt P. The tobogganer slid all of the way down the T-Bar Line and he was not alone, there were also several toboggan tracks down Wylie’s. I hit Boomerang a little late and the snow had just started to become sticky, but it is always good to get first tracks especially when they end at the car.

Hopefully the RTA will clear the road to Charlottes this weekend so the Main Range Corn Harvest of 2010 can begin.
