Perisher 6th & the 7st of August 2010
Friday and Saturday were the Perisher and National Masters. SL was on Friday and GS was on Saturday but SG had been cancelled before the Sunday Dump. I skied much better in the SL on Lindner Run than I did last year. My combined time was still pretty poor since I was spat out of the first flush at the top of the course, but my second time was about half way through the field. Like last year I came 2nd out of the two competitors in my age group, I was thrilled I improved that much.

The Saturday GS course was set on Zali's and I won the GS due to a Bradbury (Zali must be better luck than Lindner). The other competitor in my age group, AJ (who is significantly better than me) had a big slide on his first run, giving me the win!?! But anyway once again I skied better than last year and my times moved from the bottom of the field to about two thirds of the way through the field. After the race my wife and I met up with Chris Nicholson and after a good lunch at the Guthega Pub we had a run down Farm Creek. It is still my favourite run at Perisher. Up top it was lovely wind blown with some icy patches. Lower down the snow was crusty but still not too hard to ski.

Racing has been great fun and if you are at all interested in getting started either contact me or have a look on the Perisher Winter Sports Club Masters Page. My wife had a big surprise, she came along to watch and ring her cow bells, the rest of the racers were so appreciative se won an award at the presentation dinner on Saturday night!
